Biking along the I-15?

Hi everyone,

I was just looking at my bike map, the 2007 San Diego County map, and it shows a small road with a bike lane that straddles the I-15 pretty much from Escondido northwards.

It hits the top of the map, and I don't know where it goes beyond that. To Temecula? Where does it terminate?

If possible, I would like to do a century along that route to LA County. Or, if not possible, maybe to Temecula.

Old Highway 395 is a decent frontage road along the 15, but it's not especially smooth. You might have to snake around Rainbow Valley Blvd, but eventually you'll get to Temecula.

Why take that ugly route (and risk your neck on Ortega Hwy), when you can ride up PCH, through Camp Pendleton to get up to LA? Less traffic & smog, and the roads are smoother.

There's a traffic signal where it turns into Mission Rd and goes into Fallbrook. Or, as Chris said, you can turn right, cross 15, and follow it until it ends at the Pechanga Parkway in Temecula.
