Tunes up GMR

Feb. 19, 2010 GMR 002.jpg(click pic)Storm starting to come in. Ocean is visible to left of tree.

Rode to the top Friday afternoon listening to tunes on the way up for the first time. Sure made the ride a lot more enjoyable. Anyone have suggestions or favorites to listen to while riding? And no, I don't want the soundtrack to "Amercan Flyers".

Great pics! I turned on Pandora on my blackberry at the base of the road... but just a little ways up i lost signal and had to resort to some stuff I had on my phone. Now I'm a metal head through and through, but once and a while I like to mix up a little hip hop just to change things up. The new Jay Z cd is pretty good... lots of repetitive beats to keep a cadence to..

I only listen to tunes when riding solo, so you don't have to be offended. Got rained out this morning(Sunday). Was heading out to go around San Antonio Dam and back when the rain started up and didn't want to stop. So I went up Esparanza instead(steep mother) and across and down San Dimas Canyon Road. Then worked my way back and went up to the 3rd switchback on GMR and took some pics. Of course , by that time the sun was out and the road was starting to dry out, but Nooooo, I had to head home for prior commitments. Such is life.

Not so sure about only the strong, but it sure was a steep MFer. I can only imagine what the people driving past me must have been thinking. What is this idiot doing going up this steep ass hill in the middle of a rain storm for? I think I am getting close to being over the edge as far as riding goes. Up steep stuff in the middle of rain storms . What is wrong with me?

Esperanza is quite the little hill! You should give it a try Beanz!! The ride back down to San Dimas Cyn makes it all worthwhile! Once I made it up that one in one piece I knew I was ready for GMR

Looks fun but just seems to be out of the way for the rides I do. If I ride from home, it's Baldy Rd. If it's traveling, usually GMR if I'm wanting a hill. I think Esparanza is a "tweener"!

Back to the tunes...

just about anything by Primus
Squirrel Nut Zippers / Cherry Poppin' Daddies / Royal Crown Revue for the happiness infected into swing music
Nailbomb / Soulfly for the metal heads
DJ Acucrack? for techno
