Anyone going up?

Just checked out the window looking up towards GMR and it is clear out. Temp at Baldy Village is 34 as of 6:30 AM. Sun just came up and should start to warm things up soon, but I have no idea how low the snow level got down to yesterday. Thinking of giving it an hour or two and heading to the Village. Anyone else got enough warm clothes to do this ride today?

I was feeling lazy today, so I just rode up to the maintenance station. There were TONS of cyclists out today - probably the most I've ever seen on GMR.

I did a solo metric century on the SART this morning. Afterwards, we drove up to Mt. Baldy to take our lil one to the snow for the first time. We had a blast. We took GRR to GMR on the way home. We were on GRR about 4:30PM. By that time, I only saw about 5 cyclists on the mountain. It was definitely a great day to be on the bike.

So how were the conditions? It's supposed to rain again this Saturday , so I got Friday off from work and want to ride then.

How was it? How was it?

Conditions were great! Excellent views, clear skies. It got a little chilly nearing the fork with GRR in the shade there, but not too bad. A slight tailwind made for a fun descent. No ice, snow, etc. at the maintenance station. (someone posted a pic of the really slushy road next to the maintenance station a couple of weeks ago.)

Thank you!
Did you ride all the way to Baldy Road?
Any water on the road?

For all I know "the maintenance station" means the maintenance station of Baldy's ski lift. Cut a brutha a little slack.

If it's the building I'm thinking of, it's 8 miles from the base of GMR. Been a few years though.

Yep - it's just before the GMR/GRR fork.

There wasn't any downhill from the maintenance station, but there was a little bit on the shady descent from the maintenance station to the fork.
Just strips of water a foot wide or so running across the road - nothing major.

After getting a much later than expected start, made it out to C. C. Saddle yesterday afternoon. Weather was nice, on the cool side. Little patches of snow starting at 3800 feet or so. Great ride, and glad I had the camera along. And there were plenty of wet areas on the road, but nothing bad.

Many thanks Gents! Looks like no rain on Friday, so I'll finally make it up there.
