Alas sadly I cannot, I will be traveling. Somehow I keep missing ALL of the bike related gatherings in the LA area.

Is there much to do or see there for road cyclists? The Grand Prix sounds interesting, but registration is closed for the Tour. It seems like a lot of the events listed are geared more for the urban cycling/fixie crowd.

I'll be racing in the early afternoon. Family will be going as well (non-cyclists) to peruse the festival & maybe enter the kids race(s).

I decided to register too late and got shut out. I will be going with a friend and we'll just join in on the ride but be polite and not use the rest stops or food. After all, we didn't pay.
But it's on city streets, so we'll just follow the signs and do the ride that way.

Hi,
Heading over there shortly as a volunteer for the opening festivities (after all it's a festival).
I'll be racing Masters 45+ on Saturday (in my green a blue Cal-Pacific Export Packer race team kit -- look for the alligator).
Say hi if you see me.

Alice,
I would be up for joining you guys tomorrow for your ride down to LB. I'm in Downey off of Suva across for Treasure Island Park (meaning on the eastside trail). At that point are you riding on the west trail and come across at the crossover bridge (at anson park) or already on the east bike trail? All this is assumming you're on the RHRT and not streets.
Also, now for the hard part, by your estimates, what time do you think you'll come by my neck of the woods?

Hi,
Did the volunteer thing this afternoon into this evening. Helped set up tables, chair, signs, barricades, etc. It was a decent-sized fixie crowd. A few shops had booths and a couple of food vendors. Left around 7:30p as I have to be reasonably fresh for tomorrow's race.
I'll be in green and blue with an alligator logo on my jersey and shorts. Still trying to figure out how I'm going to get myself downtown; ride the race bike down there or drive there? Decisions, decisions.
