How accurate do you find Google Maps bicycling directions time projections?

Giving me a 2:40 minute estimate to go from Imperial Highway and the 91 freeway down SART to PCH, and up PCH to Warner....32 miles or so total. 2:40 minutes seems right or long?

Yeah, because Google knows how fast you can ride

Seriously, what would you expect? It's going to assume a certain average speed.

Basic division says that Google is figuring you're riding at 12mph to come up with those numbers.

Math... your friend and mine.

I will never trust those who cannot show me where my own HOUSE is (apparently I live down the street), have my favorite pizza/pasta place also at a corner and it can't be seen at all and then shows me other town's business but I cannot point the one I wanted out due to all the signs and words on the windows and doors being wiped out. Even the local AM station's twin towers are supposedly 1/2 mile from where they actually are.

If the free version bites don't pay to get it 'right'...

Always remember, Google is our friend...for finding porn and phoney antivirus.

I found that Google Maps Bicycle directions are about on par with their driving directions.
I mapped my "commute" from Long Beach to Glendale. The directions seemed to favor bicycle lanes a little more than they should. Personally, I prefer to grind it out with traffic instead of going out of my way for a bike path. Especially if the path is a multi-use indirect type.

They were a good guide but, like with Google Maps for driving directions need the human element.
