+1 on the Century. I am driving from HB and picking a buddy from Culver City on the way. You will be jamming on the freeway in the morning - just go to bed early and you will be fine.

They sleep outside. In a pup tent.

The double metric looks like my kind of fun. Too bad I can't make it.

Ahh decided I am going to do the "back half metric" after doing a metric this weekend. I struggled alittle and worry now I can't do the century (I've been lazy and not training as I should. I know I can do a century but I hate to struggle). The plan is to check in and then drive up to the Bates sag stop and start and stop by ride from there. It gives you the most scenic parts of the of the route but sadly eliminates most of the flats. It's a hill climb right out of the gate.

I'm driving up the same day, usually do. I did stay overnight one year and really, it didn't make a difference. Now that I've decided to do a metric I can even sleep in 'til 5!!!
