breakfast stop : between la jolla and carlsbad

what are recommended places to stop for a light breakfast between la jolla and carlsbad - along the 101. someplace that is maybe a little less known and not swamped by the usual weekend breakfast crowd (and other cyclists) would be nice.

A little over halfway, there are several cafes with outdoor dining in Encinitas on 101 between Swamis and Encinitas Blvd. Right across the street from the temple is one. If it's crowded, keep looking until you get to Encinitas Blvd (you'll go down a little hill). If you don't see anything you like, the next place is Panikin in Leucadia but it's usually crowded. If you make it to Carlsbad, turn right at Grand, just past the Starbucks. The Village Grill is at Grand and STate, the Grand Deli is at Grand and Madison (but their outdoor seating is on the shady side of the building) or turn left on Roosevelt, go into a strip mall on the left and in the NW corner there's a danish bakery.

Ki's in Cardiff (on the east side of PCH before you get to the Kraken) is good. Not a secret by any means, but the place is big enough that it never seems overcrowded.

Java Depot in Solana Beach. Even if you arrive at the same time as SDBC and the rest of the cyclists, you won't wait in line for more than 5 or 10 minutes.

Ate at a place in Solana Beach last Sunday, I think it was a little north of Java Depot, same side of the street, had outdoor seating in front and a large indoor area. Busy, but worth the wait.

No, it was the Beach Grass Cafe according to the receipt. Food was great, at least it was what I needed at the time, but I was just coming off of a 250 mile ride, so anything that wasn't a Clif Bar probably would have worked.
