Lake Hodges/Ranc ho Bernardo Loop Help - ??'s

So, once again my stepdaughter's high school marching band takes me travelling. This time to Rancho Bernardo High School near/in? Poway.
I plan on going down a bit early since the performance is in the afternoon and getting a ride in.
I want to see the Lake Hodges Bridge for myself and it looks to be only about 5 miles away. I'm only looking for an hour or so ride; so I made a little loop.
Basically - Camino Del Norte> Bernardo Center> West Bernardo> Lake Hodges Bridge> back across bridge> Pomerado> > Bernardo Heights back to the high school

Here's a map my ride route of my plan
Lake Hodges-Rancho Bernardo Loop

I'll be on my CX bike with CX tires, so the crushed limestone or dirt trails won't bother me. I'll probably explore a bit around Hodges as well. I'm not that great a climber; so if there are any really steep hills in my way, I'd need to change my route.

Anyone see any problems with my loop or have any better sugestions for about an hour loop from the High School to the bridge and back??

It should be a pretty pleasant ride and there aren't any nicer routes I'm aware of.
Pity you don't have more time and smaller gears, because Highland Valley Road is one of my favorite roads in the US. It's got these steep, silly-string sections that are a real hoot, plus light traffic and great scenery.

Dang - I was writing a long report on my blackberry when my wife called and I lost it!

So, the short version. Ride was fine except the bridge is closed and streets really need to be swept in this area. Also, Pomerado is bumpy, glad I climbed it instead of descending.

I eyed Highland Valley as I was ahead of schedule but left it for another day.

Maybe I'll do the long report later with a real keyboard.
