This is one of my favorite rides in a long time. Rode from my job in Ontario, up Miliken up to Banyan where I rode with the Cycling Connection. Up to Lytle Creek and back, then home in Fontana.

Had a great ride on the SART yesterday. Used my heart monitor for the first time. Don't know what the data means yet.

Im basically a one legged man, 1/2 century
I was severely injured in the USMC my right leg is was put together shabbily nearly 2" shorter now, my right patella is approximately 3/4 of an inch wide v my left nearly 3", My right knee holds me back, as it lets me know everytime I try and push too hard and it is sooo darned frustrating. Before this happened to me I was a superior athlete, could out PT any marine in any unit I was in. so for now I just do the best I can but as some of you know just having a cold bums you out when it effects your performance, I still dont have my head screwed on straight after losing my ability to perform. So here is my 1/2 century, physically I could have gone much faster for much longer but the knee says !@#$ you jack. My heart rate avg is 135 but my right leg is almost not worth having, they told me I'd be better off with an amputation, But I said no way Jose! I also do this in high top basketball shoes cause my leg is so crooked. https://connect.garmin.com/activity/113754130

Time to revive this thread!
Rode from N. Fontucky to Upland, up Mills and back down Baldy road to Euclid and back home. Nice weather and few cyclists out. I think most rode on Saturday due to possible rain Sunday.

My first time on Shady Canyon:
https://connect.garmin.com/activity/161174248
I have a single-speed with 46:16 ratio...I was totally getting passed by a lot of other bikers. Oh well. I broke 1,000ft elevation gain.

Did a pretty good job of taking it easy until I caught up with this speedy skinny named Dave and rode with him for a while. The guy climbed pretty fast on the steep sections, and I was hurting more than I wanted to just to keep him in sight. Still a pleasant ride and since I had some errands to run in either direction, I made it an even century. Felt great the next morning!

If you ever happen to see a rider, with bright yellow mavic shoes (I'm 18, so fairly young) Give me a holler!

I usually save my Mondrian La Vie Claire jersey for events, but I'll be the heavy lummox wearing the red clown shoes on either the Schwinn Peloton, or pretty soon the Look-Equipe bike.:
Definitely up for a ride sometime: calamarichris@yahoo.com . If you're new to the area, here are a few decent rides around us.

Awesome! Sounds great Chris, when do you and your group usually ride?
How long and far?
Ive been a solo rider for the past 2 years, so I'm a bit excited you could say.

I prefer to break my own wind.
I generally ride alone or in small groups (2-4 riders) I trust. Riding with a bunch of uptight strangers who're afraid of being fast enough, or being labelled "Fred" makes for a tense, unpleasant environment, and sometimes unfortunately crashes.
If you want to go hammer with the Swami's B group, they meet every Saturday morning at Nytro, 7:45. (Clicky)
Or if you prefer a more social pace, the North County Cycling Club meets right there in San Marcos, behind restaurant row.
If you're ever riding around Carlsbad during rush hour, I might be on the dog bike:
Sure we'll see each other out on the road at some point this Spring. Peace & safe riding!

Did my first timed ride on a flat section, the LA River Path roundtrip from Griffith Park to the 110/5. Barely hit my big round number of mph. I think it's not too bad for my third week after buying a bike, but one can never be sure, it seems everyone can do 25mph into the wind uphill around here.
