First time back on the bike in a full week. Illness, rainy weather, and holiday family lunacy keeping me away from bike. :( Took an easy (Easy, Easy) spin on rollers. (Click.) Sure hope it doesn't cause a relapse or worse.

IV: Lactate Threshold.
15 min - warmup 10 bursts to 130rpm 10 min @ 230-260W 5 min rest 10 min @ 285-295W 5 min rest 10 min @ 285-295W 15 min cooldown Felt great on these intervals! Honestly wanted to push it over 300, but decided to stick with the plan. I was expecting tonight to be a suffer-session, and my heartrate was tickling zone 5, but while looking at it, it just seemed like a number. I think this is going to be a good year if I get many more workouts like this. PLUS I'm already halfway to my weight goal. Only 8.5 pounds more to go! |

III: Tempo. 2.5-3 hours @ 215-260W with cadence @90-95. There was a little more climbing than I remembered on this route and my cadence suffered a little. Also windy and lost a little time when I ran into my tri-friend who never showed up at the meeting point. (Jive turkey.)
