Cycling Antelope Valley.

Hello, i'm a newbie here to this forum, and i'm relatively new to road cycling. I usually do 50 miles on PCH or the san gabriel river trail. But thats getting borring.

I was driving through the antelope valley today, and noticed some great lonley stretches of road. In particular i was going through lake hughes rd. I don't live in that area, so i must ask:

Do people cycle on hwy 138?
What are some other long roads that i could cycle on?

Yes, i know that there is mapmyride. But i kinda hate that website.

Any thoughts or suggestions about routes would be apriciated.

Bikes: Specialized Tarmac Expert, 2002 TREK 520, Schwinn Mesa WINTER BIKE, Huffy Rock Creek 29er, 1970s-era Ross ten speed. All my bikes are highly modified(except the Tarmac) yet functional, and generally look beat to ****. .

Lake Hughes road is a good ride, but most of it is not really in the Antelope Valley is it?

Yeah, there's lot's of really lonely, boring, dry, flat, windy roads in the AV. That said, the valley is surrounded by hills, so there's lots of nice roads around the border of the valley.

You're not liable to see a lot of bikes on 138, but hey, you can ride it if you want.
