Good Service From Forum Member LBS Dude (Cachequatch)

Ya know, I rarely use the LBS as most times I do stuff on my own. But eventually I need a rim strip, something that is easy 'nuff to walk in and pick off the shelf. Yesterday I walked into another JBS and asked for a wide rim strip. I know that they come in app sizes 16-17 for roadie and 22 for the wider MTB type rims. At another shop, I asked some dude for the wide tape. He showed me the narrow strip. I want wide, the 22'ish strip for my wide MTB rims. "This is the widest they make, it only has to cover the nipples, it will stay in place" he said. "Uhh yeah ok, see ya later"!

So I swing on over to another shop where I encounter Cachequatch. I ask for the wide, he pulls out 3 different widths of tape. I want the 22'ish tape, he measures them and compares them. This is the one! Thanks! No arguments, only service. Even if it's as simple as comparing the rolls side by side and /or measuring them.

I appreciate service no matter how big or how small. I Shirley don't want a bunch of BS when I have to visit a shop. This guy was friendly and helpful. I'll avoid the other shop like the plague!

Yes Alice, Nice!. And I know that it's not only for the fact that I was wearing my Mr. Beanz hat. I had been in there before while he was helping another customer. Full attention taking notes, doing research looking for answers to help out the guy!

What is the name of the LBS? You should mention it if they give good service.

I am actually a believer that it is the individual rather than the LBS of which he serves. Such as my buddy Mark Hebert. He has worked in several local LBS's but it is he that is the special individual.

But since you suggest it and another person PM'd asking of the LBS, it is Incycle in Rancho if it helps his job security and character.

Thank you Beanz! I take pride in my work! I completely believe in myself and my ability in working at my shop! I respect my managers as well as the customers who walk into the shop in Rancho! Please come in again! Also name drop my shop to those who are interested in a fully functioning shop who really care and appreciate those who would like to enhance their cycling experience!
