Almost Flat Century - Sat 4/2/11
Almost Flat Century - Sat 4/2/11 - Roll time is 8:30AMSHARP
This century will start in northern Malibu on PCH at Neptune’s Net (Don’t be too late and miss the better parking.)
42505 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu, CA 90265
It will go north thru the Oxnard Plain, then into Ventura and along PCH up to Carpenteria where we will have lunch and head back...mostly on or near the coast so the weather should never get too warm.
This is almost an out and back...The major climb (if you can call it that) is Gobernador Cyn, and that can be skipped by turning on Hwy 192(wussy option).
There will also be a bigger wussy option that even skips 192!
Estimated total elevation is approx 1200ft, so this will be a great base mile ride or 1st century!
This ride is totally unsupported...so please be prepared.
After the last ride I would suggest a minimum of 2 tubes! We had about 20 flats!
This is NOT a no-drop ride, but I imagine there will be a few groups riding at various speeds.
There are a few gas stations in Oxnard/Ventura and places to stop in Carpenteria.
The route slip will have some regroup/potty stop suggestions.
