Double Centuries
 

Is there anyone else here who posts that does doubles? We have a group of 5 or 6 that trains to do them but we are looking for a few more from around the IE that might be interested in joining in. It helps spread the work load so as we don't have the same folks doing to much pulling. For this coming year (2012) we have 7 doubles, one triple and the 508, scheduled. If you're interested PM me and I'll give you more info on the rides and the group.

Seems a bit odd to me to sign up for 200mi, but then try to reduce the effort involved or otherwise artificially shorten the time it takes to complete the ride by using others as a wind shield. I can appreciate the social aspect of having a group of riders, but 200mi in a paceline seems thoroughly awful.

Anyway, I'm in for at least the Death Valley spring double and may be in for others during 2012.

Actually, pace lines on doubles are fairly common, but staying in the same paceline for all 200 miles is not. Plus, it makes training a lot more fun if you have a group to share the effort, pain and feelings of accomplishment.

However, and all that said, I'm kind of winding down from doubles after having done 52, and living in Whittier I'm too far from the I.E. to join your group.

Still, it would be good for anyone in or near the I.E. who was into (or wanted to be into) riding doubles to join!

The Adobo Velo club often sends large groups to doubles. They tend to stick together the whole way..
