Anyone see Bill Walton on his Holland on PCH in OC yesterday?

I was enjoying the sun and sand in Laguna Beach with the family yesterday. My eye caught a cyclist heading southbound on PCH on a gloriously orange Holland with a seriously huge frame (head tube longer than a foot). I thought to myself, "that looks like Bill Walton". Did anyone else catch a sighting of this rider?

I occasionally see him riding in North SD County on the coast. He always smiles and waves.

I went to UCLA at the same time as him ( class of '74 ) and used to see him tooling around campus on his huge bicycle - quite a sight.

Heh heh Garfield....he's a known Deadhead and is very open about his pot-smoking....I had a buddy sit next to him on a plane and my buddy said that the only subject he talked about the entire trip was weed and where to get the best weed and the best type, etc etc. I think the guy is funny as hell and enjoy his basketball commentary.

I'm looking forward to seeing him at the Mount Laguna Bicycling Classic in a few months.

Met him once when I lived in North County (Escondido). Long, long time ago. At that moment, he was pissed because everybody liked to draft him.

Shook my bones next to him at a RatDog show at 4th and B about 7 years ago.
Nice, normal guy.

That photo made me do a google image search. There's some great photos of Walton and his bikes.

Must be an experience to meet someone that tall. I'm 6-foot-4... I can't imagine being 7 inches taller than that.

I missed him when he visited my area last summer. He rode some of my favorite roads: https://bikeportland.org/2011/07/11/b...e-region-56078

Next time you see him, ask him why the Lakers seem to keep Luke Walton around.
