(San Pedro) Paseo Del Mar bypass through White Point NP?

I was doing a road ride yesterday and noticed some people riding on the dirt in White Point NP towards Weymouth. Since, the landslide I have avoided doing one of my loops from San Pedro to RPV that used to go through Paseo Del Mar.

Does anyone know if the dirt is legal to ride through the preserve area? I couldn't find good info online.
https://www.pvplc.org/_lands/whitepoint.asp (no mention of bikes)

(I should have tried to ride through it when I had the chance, but I had a different route in mind yesterday!)

Not sure if it is legal; but there are plenty of riders taking the groomed dirt trail that runs to the north of the slide area judging by the tire tracks. No Did it myself in December, and didn't see any signs to the contrary. Go slow and easy, be courteous to the walkers, and you should be OK. There is no other option when you get down to PdMar other than to backtrack to SP and work your way over to Western to continue down to RPV.

thanks for the info. I will definitely check it out. It is nice to have 28mm tires on my CrossCheck. The dirt should be fun diversion!

I'm curious what will happen to the Long Beach Tour de Cure. That's part of the route.
Hopefully, we'll find out soon.
