Who got the stolen Madone**********? Craiglist ad

well now the sender has sent me a message insulting me that my posting is not tactful.

so i guess the message is that the madone may be on craigslist.

I say you bring a buddy or three, check out the bike, and just walk away with it if it's yours.

Please get the cops involved ! They know what to do to set up a sting, plus if you are dealing with gangs, you need to be cautious. Don't delay, alert the owner right away.

The cops have done it twice for different people I know. You just need solid proof the bike belonged to you.

Good Luck.

Are Treks good bikes?

There have been multiple robberies on the SART lately.

So where is mjclark in all of this? Posted 3 time then disappeared. I think if he wants to get his bike back at a minimum he should provide a description of his bike other than new Trek Madone 5.2.

MrBeanz, did that dude provide you with pix?

My Troll Sense was tingling with that guy. He claimed to be 6'5", 225 lbs. Strong-arm robbers have the "bully mentality." It's hard to believe they would attack someone who's much bigger than them. Also - he made the obligatory "I was just riding along at 20 mph" comment.

I think he's really a shill for these muggers - spreading the "don't fight back" message. Even muggers hate getting punched in the mouth.

Well, I thought about that too, but MrBeanz posted in his thread seeing a bunch of cops all over the area he quoted at about the time he mentioned.

What the **** is wrong with you? Did you miss all the people that said they saw cops in that exact spot right after the attack? Whats wrong with a "just riding along" comment?

You're delusional if you think little gangsters are coming on a bike forum to suggest middle age dudes don't fight a pack of them. It's a pack of potential gang members with weapons, do you really think they are worried about dudes in spandex? NO.

I'm sure that the incident happened. I'm also pretty sure that mjclark isn't the "true victim."

You're getting the threads confused. The 6'4", 225 guy was the UPS man who got robbed. This guy said he was riding at about 14 mph.

Who cares who "mjclark"is? I gaurantee you hes not a gang member trying to discourage us from fighting back. I'm sure its just a guy that got jacked while on his bike minding his own business and doesnt spend hours on end trolling the internet like some of us. How can you be pretty sure mjclark isnt the "true victim"?

did these happen in the same place? I know the ups driver was at night, but to be attacked at 2:30pm is a little scary.. Sounds like they are getting bold..

I don't know if these incidents happened at the same location, but the 2:30PM attack is very very unnerving, to say the least. The cops should neutralise/exterminate these vermins very quickly.

I have been watching the posts on all the SART treads. Just nothing to add, bike was a 2012 Trek 5.2 Madone Red/White, 50cm, Node 2 computer, seat bag, no marks. Had about 1500 miles on tires. Forget all the weapon comments, paper spray idea's, photo's etc. You are dealing with hitting the bricks at speed, getting your ass kicked....by punk's with weapons. I have been working with the SAPD and can not comment further.

I am still stiff from the fall and want to thank all for the well wishes I received. Mr Beanz, Thanks for the private message last night, no reply from the poster.

This makes perfect sense. I don't think people realize that if you're a victim of a crime, involved in an accident, or somehow involved or party to an investigation, you can't just post some stuff on the internet. Like another poster mentioned in the other thread, the detective told him to keep the info limited to the fact that arrests were made. It also reminds me of a sticky post on one of the sub forums which warns riders that have been hit not to post too much about their accident.

Craigslist Madone

I got a couple pic's of the Madone in Lawndale. Certainly not my bike, looks OK at about 1/2 what he listed it for.

Thanks for thinking of me when you saw the listing.
