Since I am right in between OC SART and San Bernardino SART, does anyone know if there are any issues with safety on the Northern SART.. I know it starts at at Waterman, where is the best place to park?

North SART parking

Never had any issue in that area, I went several times end to end.
I live a couple of miles from one of the entrances so I just ride, but I've seen a lot of people parking near the San Bernardino County Hall of records building

The good thing about the "north SART" is that you can add a nice climb in Mt Rubidoux if you want to.

Have not heard of any violence issues specifically. But have heard of issues with quads on the trail between Colton and Riverside. Best place to park is in the Quality Inn parking lot next to Sizzler which is roughly two blocks North of the Waterman exit from the 10 freeway. From Upland you would want to take the Waterman North exit. It is on the left hand side of the road. The trailhead is immediately North of the Inn on the same side of the road.

I rode this on Sunday. Parked at the Hotel that peace vegan suggested. I was told by another cyclist that as long as you park alongside the trail, you won't have issues with parking. The trail was full of families and few roadies (started late) Did see a quad riding on the trail pretty fast. Other than that, seemed pretty safe. Not sure that I would ride in the evening though.

This is my main ride area, been doing this section for 3 years now and not one problem. I rarely ride at night and would not suggest it, a lot of graffiti goes up at night, new paintings every time I ride between Colton and Mt Rubidoux. I would not want to run into a tag crew during their operating hours.
Like someone posted, it is a great ride but flat, I throw in Mt Rubidoux at least once a week to get a little climbing.

How do you get from upper SART to lower SART on a bike? Checking google maps, I don't see any obvious bike routes but there must be something.

I think you have to get off trail and do side streets through Corona/ Norco area to Green River where the southern sart picks back up

Yep, my understanding is that the engineers are struggling on the SART design to overcome the major elevation change between upper Prado dam to lower Prado dam while at the same time avoiding the 91/71 interchange.

The problem is that this has been promised for over 20 years. Maybe 5 more to actually get it done.
