Road races in the San diego/LA area
Hello all,
Wondering if anyone knows any road races in the San Diego/LA general area for the week of May 18-26. I plan to be in town and was hoping to participate in some races (crit or road are fine). Tried looking on usacycling and bikereg but don't show any in the area during that timeframe. If anyone can point me to local event calendars or races scheduled during that week I would really appreciate it.
Thanks for the help.
-Ron

Plus a lot of the higher level officials and all the motorefs are taken up, too. And all the potential volunteers want to watch ATOC too. So even if you wanted to put on a race, nobody wants to work it.

I'm sure all of LA Cycling-dom (?) will be riding up GMR on the 19th to watch the Queen stage. You could join in. Heck I'll bet some people would race you to the top--at least in their own heads. :-)
Seriously, though, I rode up there last year and it was a beautiful day with thousands of other cycling fans.

Find the car near the top with Basque and Norwegian flags. I'll mix you a bloody mary!

The only race that I see during that time frame is the Tuesday night Eldo Race. It's a weekday race series that is USAC sanctioned.

There is the great park cycling series in irvine also, though I don't think it is usac sanctioned.

If you want to get race type training, depending on where in la you are staying, I'd do the rose bowl on tues/thurs nights, nice hammerfest which gives you as much training as you make of it.
