I'll be out there - possibly around 7:30 - and will be giving the ski lifts another go. I'll probably be doing my own pace though, but anybody is welcome to tag along. Looking to improve my gate->lifts time a little and ease my disappointment from yesterdays attempt.

Last year was an ok turnout...6-8 people from what I remember.

-_-; Going up Big Bear for camping with Family... I hope to go up the infamous GRM/GRR sometime this year! Do you guys ride it up anytime during mid summer? July/Aug?

Maybe I should come and test my new "super-granny" 30/32 gear on the lifts. It's about 100 miles from my house, but it's early morning on a Sunday and there should be no traffic. What time do you start?

bored, it's pretty much ridable year around except (IMO) for a day or two after it snows. It can get warm in the summer during the afternoons (maybe 95-100'ish), but nothing crazy. First water is at the village and for some that'd take 3 bottles or a camelbak to make it up there on a warm day.

hamster, most people start between 7am and 9am it seems. Super granny will get you up there for sure!

It happens every year. I live in Glendora right below the start to GMR and can vouch for it being closed for the Fourth.

Well, I have a broken front shifter. I did a climbing ride on Sunday with my chain locked onto the middle ring. Right now my chain is "locked" onto my large chainring, and I have to manually shift by tweaking my inner limit screw. Unless I'm able to get my shifter repaired (Campy Veloce), I won't be doing this ride on Sunday.

That's too bad. Hope you can make it.

For those who want to ride, we can meet off of the corner of Glendora Mtn Road and Boulder Springs Dr. Plenty of street parking along that street. We can meet at 7:15 or so and roll out at 7:30.

I'm gonna try. The shifter is in the shop as of today. Hoping they can turn it around quickly.

LOL, shifter is fixed so I'm coming. What's the plan again? Where are we meeting, what time, etc?

Hey Genaro, last year's ride was fun but unfortunately I can't make it this year. Let's try do GMR again some time in July.

Meet off of Glendora Mtn Road and Boulder Springs, Just North of Sierra Madre. @ 7:30. I might ride there if I get up early enough. I hear Beanz may make a cameo appearance

Sounds good Jimmy - July 4th would be awsome as the road is closed. We are planning a ride up to Palomar (My first) in Sept right before Tour of Foothills.

I'll try and make it. Twisted my ankle a few days ago so I don't know how far up I'll make it.

I'll try to make it. I'm climbing Palomar on a century (OCW/Chruck Bramwell) on Sat. so GMR/GRR will be my recovery ride. Hope to do the ski lifts but it's a matter of how my legs feel after Palomar on Sat.

Will try to get some other Rebels to come; sorry JimmyNH won't be there. Hey Jimmy, want to join us on Palomar? If so, email me.

I'm riding a black GURU and will probably be wearing OCRR kit. I drive a dark green Miata (info for those who don't know me).
