Where you riding/not riding this weekend?

Prolly nowhere! Ride plans ruined! OK...OW!!! Last night walking in the door, Gina directs me to kill a spider under the porch. Every spider to her is like 5 feet tall so I take off my chancla, vertical leap into the air and POW! Nice shot but on the way down I hit the edge of the step, roll my ankle, land on my butt then roll into a half rear somersault on the cement. So now my ankle is stiff and the pinky toes burns like fire, hope it ain't broken! The worst part of it is that Gina has this weird built in radar for injuries. If I have a big bloody blister on my hand, that will be where she grabs me to squeeze my hand when she trips at the mall trying on new shoes. So now I'm hurt, missed my bike ride, and I can expect her to step on my foot a few times today! Not to mention she stripped me of my paycheck yesterday. Hmm, this married life can be rough at times. :D

Was set out to do self supported century following riverside citrus classic route. Started tad later but no big deal...Blissful and nice first 40 miles or so (all the while realizing this was a little hillier than I was expecting... climbed 4000ft by than already and I was thinking it was only 6000ft century or so...) figured it is all right still... than...
...
...
YUP, a flat.
...
under tree shade swapping a tube, taking out the thorn ... all good... let's go...
10 miles later
...
Another flat!
This time, there is a nasty gash about 1/2 inch long near side of tire. Glad I brought 2 extra tubes... swap tube in, ready to pre-pump and... well... the presta stem broke off?!
So I go back to the tube and put some instant patch thingy... using left over co2 from previous flat to pre-fill, put folded $10 bill for the boot...
Looking at the time, there is no way I am going to back by noon now if I plan to continue not to mention I am not comfortable with the gash on tire or having no more spare to rely on (burnt both CO2 cartridge as well as pump kind of jacked by the broken presta stub)...
Riding back to home (15miles) was one of most unnerving ride I've done in a long while...
At least, there are other activities to attend today... heading out to pool party with my kids :) Hope I took all the flat luck for you guys for today :)

Ouch thats tough, sympathies with the turned ankle!

Get it Xrayed if need be:)

Me am out to the local Water Park, not far but with a good few slopes and mounds to run my bike up and down and a nice river bank to ride along.

Then after that a Bike Festival Even with a few bike activities and info stall etc.

Should be good providing the rain that is hammering down tonight stops by morning like it is supposed to and the sun comes out like its supposed to:thumb:

Sorry to hear about the ankle Beanz. Did you ice it right away?

Most likely a sprain of some kind.

Get well soon.

rubic 06-16-12 04:11 PM

I wish you had a video of this so we all could laugh with you, kind of like AFV. As far as the "chancla' goes, this, ah, flip flop should be more funny than most of Rommeny's.

Mr. Beanz 06-16-12 04:13 PM

Sounds fun Apollored!

No Jed, it was late, today been busy but I have to go to a dance recital tonight. If I can live through that, I can live with a jacked toe.:D

Ankle is pretty good actually, it's the little toe.:p

Not only did my mom whack me with hers, she could hit me on the fly when I would run. Even around corners!!!
You learn this skill as a little girl in Mexico!!!

Fri: coast to Fallbrook for a 7/11 lunch of donuts and Mt Dew.

Sat: sat at home and listened to insults when the club ride passed my house.

Sun: Bonsall, De Luz, Temecula, rainbow, Fallbrook. I don't know if the group is getting faster or if I just suck more. I don't think it's the group.
