Yeap, I'm that old!
Genaro, you have a great 4-th and we'll definitely have to schedule another GMR ride in near future. Hope the weather will improve, i.e. it will get into the 90s as it is supposed to be at this time of the year.

Thinking about doing about same time. Scott Addict Black/white with topeak dynapack at the seatpost. Pretty sure I will be the only one sporting that again

John, I email you few days ago about it but you maybe didn't get it?! I don't have too much time so I am going to start at 7:30am from E rte 66 & S Lone Hill Ave (a shopping center parking). I don't even know where is the "high school". I may see you guys on the road?! my ride will be only about 48miles up & down the same route. need to see if I can do it on the fixie.

Wife and I should be on the hill early via LBC. Parking at the HS and riding to the village. Me: Black Focus/Cadence kit. Her: White Look/Lululemon kit.

Wife Domestique ride. The pace should be slow.

Does anyone know if the restaurant in the village will be open?

If you can do Baldy at least as far as Icehouse Canyon on the fixed gear, you should be ok for the 508. According to Jay, the climb from the village to Icehouse is comparable to the steep part of Towne Pass. The total climbing on stage 3 is a bit more than that though. GMR and GRR together are pretty comparable to stage 4.

Wow there were a gaggle of riders out there today. I went fairly early and didn't see many on the way up, but on the way down, at least 4 different clubs and 1 group ride of 40+ riders in a large peloton.

My GPS freaked out on my phone, but looks like I broke my PR's out there (Gate to shack in about 56 minutes, and stop sign to top in about 1:05) today despite the humidity. Nice to not have cars and rocket racers to worry about, but some of the cyclists out there were riding past the yellow line, so still had to be careful on the downhill.

Sure you are Rick. Be a man and admit you are just afraid of GMR. At least Beanz admitted being afraid of spiders. Oh wait, that was Gina. Scratch that idea. What the heck are you doing in England? Is it possible to have a Happy 4th of July in England?

U.S.A.
Baldy Lodge is open 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. Even ground hog day and most peoples birthdays.

Uhmmm... took wrong turn and ended up descending to East fork. After descending for about 12-14 miles... I realized I am somewhere I wasn't planning to be. Climbed back up and it was too late for village at that point. Next time...

I'm sure Rick specifically planned it this way so he can rub it in to the poms. Hell, if I ever go to England on the 4-th of July I'll set up some fireworks too.

Yes, back in England now after several days in Wales. Got to ride some in Cardiff, so that was fun. Have learned to drive on the left side of the road, safely negotiate round-about traffic and shift a manual gearbox with my left hand. Thankfully the clutch, brake, throttle are in the same order (but on the other side of the car!).

Cycling on the left side is fun once you get used to it. Missing GMR/GRR but having a great vacation (which they call a holiday) in the U.K.
