lost dog

so i drove up my parents to crystal lake for a hike ( that was my plan), but on my way to the top about 2-4 miles from the lake there was this big rottweiler dog just laying on the middle of the road. i stopped to see if it belonged to some hiker, but no car was nearby and we had to slow the traffic and try to herd the dog to the side and then a good samaritan couple stopped and helped us moved the dog by giving him some beef jerky. we found out by asking a couple of passing drivers and road workers that the dog had been there since 7 am in that area. long story short i took the dog home and i will call and probably give to seaca, but i want to know if anybody here knows or has heard of anybody that lost a dog up there, or even if somebody wants to adopt him.

Beautiful dog. Call rescue groups before SEACA as that type of dog has a bad rep.

Rotties? A bad rap? Nah... They arebig teddy bears!

Incidentally, today I trained with "Eddy." (For those of you who remember American Flyers).

That son of a ***** chased me for nearly a quarter mile on a back country road. Then I stopped, gave him a doggy treat and told him I'd be back next week.

He is s bit stressed but I was able to walk him around my block with out him trying to pick fights. He actually seems interested in playing with other dogs. The dog seems like they took care of him, but there are a couple of red flags like
He has been peeing to little and really concentrated.
He has not been neuter
I believe that he might have either a hip problem or leg injury
And he is growls while he eats if somebody is close.

Well, if you can find his owner then God bless you. If not, I hope you can find him a good home... Too many people buy "macho" dogs like that and don't take care of them. it's sad.

I'd bet it belongs to one of the mountain residents.

well there were not any cabins or camp grounds closer than 4 miles. if he does belong to a resident, why was it left for more than a couple of days out there? we asked at the store at the top and nobody knew where it came from. still i am going to notify seaca that i have found a dog and i will take a picture so they can post it and let other agencies nearby know of a found rottweiler, if the owner is looking for him he will get it back.

when did you see him? day and hour
i saw him/picked him up saturday at 5:30-6, but i had been waiting for animal control since 3. i decide to pick him up because he might have caused an accident to a fellow cyclist coming down, or might have been ran over by a car (might have caused a crash as well).

As long as we're demanding specifics, are you sure about the 4-mile radius thing? Even Googlemaps drags their feet on updates.

Funny..I like that. Sounds like the scene in Robin Hood-Men in Tights, where Little John demands payment to cross a bridge over a dry creek.
