Convenience Store in Silverado Canyon
Does anyone know what ended up happening with the convenience store in Silverado Canyon? The last time I rode up there several months ago, I heard it was closing down after many years of operation. I wonder if it ever closed down or re-opened under new ownership.

There used to be 2 stores, one at the bottom of the canyon across from the post office, and one near the top next to the fire station. The one at the top was wrecked when a huge bolder crashed through it and killed a young girl. It never opened after that. The one at the bottom must of closed this year. Bummer!

LOL, yes, I don't remember the details as I spoke with the proprietor of the store several weeks before it was supposed to close (several months ago). Apparently there were something shady going on regarding his lease not being renewed or someone trying to buy out/take over the store. I know he had been in business for a quite a number of years and was very sad to essentially be forced out of business. I recall telling him that I would not patronize the store should it re-open under new ownership.

As of 11-25 the store was still open. I do not know if it is the original owner as I have never been in there before. I stopped in and bought a gatorade, and what was probably the last Hostess Cupcake in all of Orange County. Both items were very satifying.
