Have a fun weekend planned... get off early from work today and will go do a quick MTB spin around Irvine Park and Santiago Oaks. Tomorrow I am hiking out at the Santa Rosa Plateau before heading out to relatives house for dinner. Friday am riding MTB at Chino Hills, starting from Green River. Saturday I have a MTB ride planned in Limestone Canyon and Sunday, provided weather holds up, I am driving back out to Mt. Laguna and doing the Big Laguna Trail again, can't wait. Had a ball doing it last weekend!

I love when my riding is planned like this... gives me something to look forward to!!!

My 9 yr old son and I are riding to grandma's house for Thanksgiving... I'll probably have my wife drop him off at the Big A and I'll pick him up there and we'll ride down SART to Adams in Costa Mesa. Then back again on Friday.

So low intensity but high fun.

Way, way down on my mileage this month, so I'm going to do my "Canyons to Surf" Century tomorrow and squeeze in a local metric century Friday morning before heading to the airport to pick up my lady mid-afternoon.

Wife manages a retail store, so she'll be out of my hair all day on Black Friday. I am thinking of catching the Metrolink to Irvine then doing a half C over to the SART, then up to Yorba Linda then back to the "A" to catch the train back home.

I really feel like biking but my muscles are telling me they want a day off. Maybe just a slow joyride around the neighborhood or to a nearby cafe then...

I'm thinking maybe Friday starting at Yorba Park and heading down SART to the beach, over to Back Bay and back up thru Shady Canyon, irvine, Tustin and Orange back To SART. Around 60 miles.

Yesterday it was just roaming around aimlessly for a couple of hours before T-day dinner. Today I stuck to SART because there was no way I was getting anywhere near any shopping centers while on a bike. Tomorrow is as unplanned as yesterday was. So, too, for Sunday.

nice 50 mile reconnoitering of the laguna/cuyamaca triangle. the same headwind that made the sunrise highway ascent to mt. laguna miserable
also made the descent from paso picacho campground area in cuyamaca rancho state park a total blast. great way to finish. beautiful day up there.
*bonus* the pavement on the 79 running through cuyamaca rancho state park from the lake south to hwy 80 is brand new and buttery. dew it.

I did a nice 36 mile ride down the coast and up through Rancho Santa Fe on Thanksgiving. I burned enough calories to have extra pie in the afternoon.

Been off the bike for a month due to a foot injury. Felt great to get back on. Saturday did 20 miles on the mountain bike on the Tijeras Creek loop. Today I did 30 miles on the road bike from RSM to SJC and back. I am really slow due to no riding for a long time, but that will come back over time.

On Sunday instead of doing Mt. Laguna I ended up climbing Blackstar to Beeks. For those that ride there, I have never ever seen the trail in such good shape... it was almost like a paved highway. I guess for some that would be a disapointment but for me it was awesome. On the long descent, I didn't have to worry about ruts, loose rocks, sand causing me to slide off the cliff... can't wait to go back and do it again!

Funny reading my weekend sugestion above I made alot of changes. Wednesday I rode Irvine Park/Santiago Oaks, Thursday I hiked Santiago Oaks, Friday I rode in Wood Canyon/Aliso, Saturday I did do Limestone and Sunday Blackstar. Had a little fall Saturday and am all hurty today. Think I will take today as a rest day! Was a great weekend for doing anything outside. Can't believe its late November!

no biggie if you don't. best time of year is last 2 weeks of april-first 2 weeks of may. the green returns, flowers are out, little trickling streams here & there and the lake(s) are at their best.

if you like this area, also try neighboring cuyamaca rancho state park-especially the east mesa. wonderful rolling 'cowboy' country.
