san diego bike shop

heading out to san diego in may to watch some of the tour of California and for a business conference but I am looking to rent a road bike for a day so I can do a long ride in the hills. Anyone have any suggestions? not trying to get killed on a price. I will prob bring my own shoes/pedals and helmet if I find a good spot.

Thanks

There are a few different places. Depends on where you will be staying. In North County, there's B&L Bikes in Solana Beach and Nytro in Encinitas, both offer road bike rentals for $65/day.

Bike Bling is 2 blocks away from the start of the TdC. Best shop in north county and even better if you are into MTBs. They will price match too if you find it cheaper, just show them on your phone.

FYI I heard the B&L shop in Solana beach got sold.

I don't think they do rentals, though.

If you are staying downtown or Mission Valley, you can get a rental over at Moment Cycle Sport in Liberty Station/Point Loma

I have posted this before in other threads. I run a small road bike rental service out of South Orange County, Califonia. I run it from home delivering bikes to the travelling cyclist. Local delivery andpicku is free but for nother forumite I would deliver free to North County San Diego. I feaure modern Cannondale CAAD10's with Ultegra as well as an assortment of vintage road racers. Check out www.riverstonecycles.com for rates and reservations.

Have fun out here. It is a great place to ride.
