Don't give up hope! Check Ebay, and just Google "Craigslist, Bianchi, 56" (or whatever size you ride).
It took 4 years before I found my first Peloton, but that search, the restoration, the building up... it only makes the bike more of a delight to me now.

Do you ever visit C&V? In addition to finding my dream Pelotons my other dream came true in the For Sale section, thanks to Jan Nikolajsen in there.
The most distressing situation I face on weekends is which one I'm going to ride. Good problem to have, but doesn't make it any easier. :)

Eh, my son's 22 and there's NO laughing about this particular ex.

I'm a big-assed cyldesdale at about 6'3" and 240lbs or so. I tend to ride a 60cm, depending on the manufacturer's sizing methods. My dream bike is a late 80's Bianchi, either black with celeste highlights or celeste with blue highlights and Shimano 600 components (including Biopace chainrings).

I used to visit C&V a whole lot, but... the bottom line is that I have neither the money nor the time to start doing anything regarding my dream bike other than dream. Eventually that'll change, but right now I barely have time to keep my daily rider in ride-able shape, much less actually ride it. :)

I'll give you $100 for that old Bianchi. Hey that's $20 more than you paid!! :D

Its a Serotta. Typical pricing guidelines get thrown out the window with a few makers, -- Serotta and Colnago are a couple examples


To the OP and the other Schwinn aficionados. --- that is a beautiful bike, thanks for sharing the pics. I had no idea big S made anything high end besides Paramount, but a stock bike with sew ups is decidedly performance oriented!

Saw and old Peugeot at the swap meet today, no wheels, but looked decent from a distance. As I started inspecting it, the guy selling it said rather sternly, you want it you get it, don't look at it just get it. So I said to him, never mind and walked away. I'd rather have a Bianchi anyways.

I'm busy fixing up my old Bianchi.... and it's not a fancy one. Got some new shifters to replace the busted ultegra STI ones and some new cables. We'll see, I'm thinking it will be fun to tool around on SART with the kids when I don't want to take the asploding bike, but even small hills make me cry on that bike.

That is exactly what I thought. I figured it might have had a bad weld, or some damage somewhere on it.

Would a 1988 Panasonic DX 3000 that's almost as nice as the Peloton above be of interest?

miss my old bianchi, '83. caught a lot of chit from my dad then, $750. the month prior i bought a stumpjumper. about the same price. but you know, probably got 15k miles on each. lived on them after a eurail trip the summer of '85, got home without a nickle to my name. then enrolled to occ and started crew. the bianchi (mostly) got me to the boat house then school. loaned it out eventually then it was stolen. my second rb, sill have, a bottecchia. it was retired and converted to a beach cruiser. a very fast one i might add. 7 speed campy chorus.

Great looking Peleton, congrats on the find. I have a Schwinn 1988 Prologue 55cm frame that i need to build, just don't know when. Psalm, i have a 1988 blue Bianchi SX with all 600 tricolor that i don't ride much however it is a 57cm.
That Peleton needs to see daylight, it needs to get out.
