Spots to practice getting air

Anyone know of any spots good for learning to leave the ground? There's some jumps around Irvine Regional Park (Willows Trail I think) but they looked pretty unforgiving last time I rode there (single track + steep ramp). I guess I'm looking for a wide dirt ramp with a forgiving landing area. Please don't say the bike park... I'd rather not embarrass myself in front of a bunch of teenagers with much more talent than me
