Your post is not really clear. They are able to take requests? Please clarify what you are trying to convey?

Kind of a long story but the store closed before Christmas due to the owners death. Store has been closed since that time with customers bikes and property stuck in the store. There was no way for customers to retrieve any property or services that they paid for.

The store now has a representative there to handle claims from customers who had bikes in the store or other property.

yeah i wasnt sure what word to use because apparently the people at the shop had nothing to do with the shop previously so customers were kinda "requesting" their bikes back and then it had to be reviewed or something. Maybe someone will post here to let us know how its going. I really sympathize with anyone who had their bike in "prison" for the last 5 months.

Sounds like the previous owner left his estate in a bit of a mess. No trustee to step up to the plate. Maybe even a probate court assigned an administrator to sell the business.

recently, in LA county, all probate cases were going through one court, in downtown LA. this has created a HUGE backlog of cases and extreme hardships for many litigants.
