La Canada/Flintridge warning!

Cross posted from A&S sub-forum. Many of us here may not read that forum and this is important for us who live or ride in the area.

Revision: After watching the video, it looks like the prank was set up on Oak Grove right at the high school. There is a center divider on the northern portion of the high school with some trees. It looks like the tape was strung between the trees and the chain link fence between Oak Grove Drive and Hahamongna Park. A typical bicycle would be riding about 15 mph nn that stretch. Still dangerous. The road is heavily trafficked in the morning and early evenings as it is the primary access to Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Late at night and early in the morning have very light traffic.

This is right near where I work. The location is at the bottom of an extremely steep, but short hill. Even coasting, it is trivial for a bicycle to attain speeds in the mid-30s. No way one can stop their bike in time. On Foothill Blvd. heading east, just before Oak Grove, adjacent to the north parking lot into La Canada high school.

Be careful out there.
