Best route to Palos Verdes from Long Beach

I'd like to see how others get to Palos Verdes from Long Beach. I've taken Anaheim, heading towards PV from LB, but safety is pretty sketchy on Anaheim in Wilmington (mainly road hazards in the form of debris/bad road surfaces, and having to avoid that plethora of hazards without getting run over by the large amount of Semi-tractor-trailer traffic there. PCH isn't much better. Any other suggestions?

We take Del Amo Blvd. when we head to Long Beach or Seal Beach. You can use the Del Amo or Wardlow Rd. Wardlow turns into 223rd then make a left on Vermont on wither street and you will get to PV and take any route you like from their.
We have done Anaheim but not a route we like all that much, Del Amo stays out of the areas that are a little sketchy and wide for most of the time.

Here is map from Strava of the area, and we have lots of routes thru PV

If you (a) go to Google maps, (b) punch in your start and destination addresses, and (c) click on the bicycle icon, you'll be given options of routes with minimal traffic. These often involve many turns, so I'll leave it to you to write it down or try to keep it all straight in your head. :-)

We usually just deal with 'The Ghetto Roubaix' on Anaheim through the madness. If you hammer through early enough, it's pretty empty. Keep your eyes peeled for rasor blades, saws, and misc car parts in the lane.

I've heard that you can avoid most of downtown Wilmington by taking an R on Alameda St. / Harry Bridges Blvd / L on John S. Gibson Blvd / R on Channel St / R on Gaffey St. / L on PV Dr N.

I'm not sure about the other streets, but Gaffey has a pretty nice bike lane all the way to PVDN.

If anyone rides this or has ridden this, please give us the deets.

+1 on the left on Alameda off Anaheim. My club just pushes down Anaheim and back, but as you say, its not the best of roads. Alameda/Harry Bridges/John Gibson/Pacific is great (This is all the same road; it just changes names). Alameda/Harry Bridges has a lot of new pavement and very wide shoulder. Traffic very light on the weekend. I'd expect more port related traffic during the week.

Backtracking up Gaffey from there is okay. You can also stay on Channel, make a right on Park Western to Western. Do a quick right then left and go through the neighborhood to get up to Miraflores and Via Colinita. Hit the Homes to Domes interval and be on your way.

uhhh, yeah. I meant L on Alameda St.

Not R. My apologies.
