Route from SART to Newport center
I need to ride down there Saturday afternoon and will probably take my usual Whittier to Seal Beach SGRT route and then head down PCH. I'm totally unfamiliar with the landscape on PCH after SART though - and RideWithGPS keeps trying to put me on some little bike path parallel to PCH.
It looks like there may be some sort of little bike path that goes under Newport Blvd too but I can't really tell.
Any recommendations from those of you who ride through there all the time? My current mapped route keeps me on PCH all the way down to Newport Center Drive.

PCH does have a lane and a sidewalk most or all of the way to Newport Center. PCH does cross under Newport Blvd.
You might look at a route that get's you over to Back Bay before PCH. Hamilton/Victoria/22nd Street get's it done and then you can either go north around the top of the bay to Jamboree the Eastbluff or Back Bay Drive towards Newport Center. Or you can go south and around the bottom of the bay via Santiago, Castaways Trail and PCH. The preceding is to minimize exposure to PCH, which has its challenges.

The ride on PCH through Downtown Newport is alittle harry - but there is a bike lane/sidewalk - just watch out for traffic if on the sidewalk - lots of pedestrians. Past Dover it opens up. There is a short bike lane that takes you under and away from the Newport Ave bridge. As you travel on PCH south just as you approach the bridge you will see a little ramp up onto the sidewalk. Follow that around to the other side but eventually you are back on heavily congested PCH. There are alternatives through the neighbors but unforatuntely I don't the names of the streets... hopefully someone has STRAVA/MAP MY RIDE ROUTE for you to review. I always turn up the street that Bike Religion is on and go the back way to Back Bay..

I would stay on PCH all the way, it's the most direct.
