Las Vegas mtn biking suggestions

3 or 4 of us are coming out in November, all are experienced mountain bikers with 15 to 20+ years of riding. Looking at renting & riding from McGhie's Bike Outpost. Any suggestions or other ideas on shops & trails would be very welcomed. I tried Escape Adventures once before but was left without a ride the night before so they are out as far as I'm concerned. Was told before flying out "No Problem", guess there was. I'm riding all 3 days I'm there (Thurs/Fri/Sat) so more than one place is good with me as long as they pickup & drop off at the strip so I don't have to rent a car thought I will if I need to.

Three previous trips to Vegas & I have not ridden there yet so I'm looking forward to it. First time too hot, then it snowed, then "sorry we have no tours going today". Lets hope the 4th time is the charm.

Thanks!

When you say the McGhies Outpost, I assume that you will be out at Blue Diamond. That is one of the three best MTB locations in the Vegas Valley vicinity. Blue diamond is the Cottonwood Canyon Trails. There will be maps at the outpost. You will also find a lot of other riders to get info from. November is a great time of year to ride Vegas-Good timing!

Boulder City is hometown to Bootleg Canyon. Bootleg has a genuine IMBA EPIC Ride.

They also have the flightlines at Bootleg if you like cable rides

One of the shops listed above should be able to hook you up with a bike. I don't know if anyone shuttles from The Strip to Boulder City. Many casinos can arrange transport if you are staying on the Strip.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I enjoy riding here. Buttttt, beware, the dirt and rocks here are harder than anywhere in the world.

BTW if you are out here the Saturday after Thanksgiving Bootleg has the 12 hours of Bootleg race. You and your crew can race as individuals or a relay team. Maybe take some shiny stuff back to NC?

Thanks for the info. We will be there before Thanksgiving. I've ridden the South Mountains in Phoenix so I understand the hard rocks part. Looking forward to desert riding again. Around here you can't see very far even with the leaves off the trees.

Thanks again,

Bob
