Would appreciate North Phoenix mtb shop & trail suggestions.

Help an easterner out with a little guidance. Going to be at the MARRIOTT DESERT RIDGE RESORT late September early October with a little free time while the wife is in a conference. Looking forward to desert riding again. Considering McDowell Park and Pima & Dynamite. Any other trail suggestions near the resort would be helpful, hoping to get 3~4 days of riding in. I've ridden all of South Mountain before and it was great but I want to stay in the north part of town this trip. Saves time & gas.

Also need any suggestions on where to rent in that area, considering a 29er hardtail, don't think I need FS but please correct me if I'm wrong.

On a side note, if you are willing to give up any cool must visit restaurants in the area I'd very appreciative. Trying to spend money with the locals and not the mega-chains.

Thanks! Bob

I grew up in Phoenix and have tons of family there. Los Compadres is a great family style Mexican restaurant. @25th and Northern. Then there is Garcia's, check the phone book. They have 3-5 locations and are very good Mexican Food.

The Black Canyon Trail is a 62 mile "World Class" trail system. I've done a few strecthes at the south end. I'll post a few pictures, just cause I like em. I hope you have a great time there.

This is another list of Trails for the whole valley. Some good reading to be had here. As far as shops, I'm no help. Landis has several locations in the Valley. Some people love em, some not so.
