Vacationing in Flagstaff, AZ -- Looking to rent a road bike

Hi all:

The family and I are heading out to Flagstaff for 8 days. While I'm there, I'd like to rent a road bike and do a few ~30 mile rides.

I'm bringing my helmet, shoes, pedals, etc.

Anyone have any recommendations for a good shop to rent a bike from? Any bike routes would greatly appreciated, too.

Can't help with the bike rental, but you should definitely do the Mormon Lake ride (, which is probably the most popular route in the area.

If you want a good climb, check out Snow Bowl Road:

I did 89A from Flagstaff to Sedona quite a few times, but there's not much shoulder there, so some people might not like that route. Here's a picture from there:

Flagstaff itself is pretty bike friendly. You shouldn't have much trouble finding a good route in and out of wherever you're staying.
