I had two bikes stolen:

a bikes direct Dawes that my wife uses to ride to work, and a 1960's dawes that I custom built for around town riding. Both are quite a blow, but the rebuild is actually worth something. I used campagnolo, brooks, and sturmey archer parts, and it was quite a machine.

any help is appreciated.

New to the area so I don't have much of a network.

Both are identifiable, report to police, watch craigslist and ebay. Good luck.

Any documentation on the bikes including pictures will help when talking to the police. My bike was stolen in Feb. In Mar I found it on Craigslist. The thing is, "that looks like my bike" isn't good enough. I ended up calling the seller and arranging a meeting. At the meeting I was able to positively ID my bike from the Trek ID number. I told the seller I would call him back later if I didn't find anything else then called the police. They had me set up another meeting later that day and met with him and ID'd the bike from the documentation I gave them. I'm telling you this so you know what to expect. As said above watch Craigslist and ebay. Good luck.
