69 Schwinn Paramount Tandem Restoration
Hi:
New to the forum and looking for pictures for original parts for this gentleman's tandem bike we just found.
Other than tires/tubes, I'd like to replace the Shimano brakes and downtube shifters with original pieces.
Diacomp touring or Campy? Seems as though 1970 on up have different components.
Andy Gilmour Bicycles, and the Bisbee Bicycle Brothel have been a great sources of information, and for parts.

I think that if you look on eBay there is a section for "vintage" bike parts.

YOu should also check in with the Vintage group on Bike Forum there are a couple of riders of older tandems in that group who could be a big help to you too.

Here's the original catalog, 1969 was the first year for the Paramount Tandem:
Schwinn catalogs, 1961 - 1970
My guess is Weinman centerpulls and Campy shift levers on a band.
Edit: never mind, looks like Mafac cantilevers, probably the longer version that are very rare....
More Edit: Looks like Twinn Stick stem shifters....
Here's a great group of Schwinn fans, they'll be able to tell you the exact parts that came on it from the factory, post in the "Lightweights" section:

Older Paramount tandems sometimes have an issue with cracks in the forks. I would examine it carefully. I had a friend with 2 Paramount tandems - one cracked and had to be replaced. The other fork was fine,
