Slime Intertubes

After having to replace the REAR tube prior to our last outing, then having the replacement start leaking at the 8 mile mark, I'm getting a bit perturbed. (Yes, flats happen, but I don't want to spend my time constantly replacing tubes either.) As is the Mrs. Which brings to mind the thread title. Is anyone using these tubes? Elsewhere on the net, folks comment that these tubes foul both air pumps and CO2 valves. Not really a fan of either of those conditions either. We're not weight weenies, FWIW.

I use tire liners and have had no issues with flats since.

We run Slime brand tubes in the off road tandem.

No comment regarding how it effects a CO2 since I never use them.

As for pumps, in the 11 years of using Slime tubes in our off road tandems, I have yet to have issues from the Slime disturbing a pump. To add though, after inflating the tire, most times if I see any trace of Slime, I will cycle the pump a few times to purge any possible Slime from the pump head. Then wipe off if needed.

I ran Slime for a few years before going to Mr. Tuffies and never had a pump problem. The valves of the tubes themselves do become clogged, so remove, wash, replace as needed.
