Trek T100 Double Track

I have an opportunity to buy a Trex T100. Fairly new to tandem biking, and am just looking for a first bike. It is in fair condition, the aluminum wheels have a fair amount of corrosion, which might clean up. Tires appear older. I like the bike, the seller wants $300. Just looking for any advice or opinions. Thank you!

Is it the right size? At that price seems like a great way to get introduced to tandems, and better than the way I did it. Worse case scenario is you resell for the same price.

I think it's a pretty good fit for the two of us. There is also a KHS Milano nearby that we intend to look at.

An inexpensive used tandem can be a great way to start tandem riding as it is not a large investment. One problem can be buying a tandem with worn out components as the repairs could cost 2 -3 times the price of the tandem at a bike shop. Take a good look at the components, test ride and notice the shifting, and braking. Check if the seat posts are frozen and if parts will be difficult to replace. If you don't have experience with bike components and signs of wear, try to take someone with you that has that experience. Some people, with bike repair experience, can do the work themselves and shop online for sales on parts and do well with a used tandem.

I have a T100. Very happy with it.

Previous tandems owned and ridden for a while.
1st a Miyata Duplicross. Too small for me but got us started in 2013.
2nd a Burley Samba. Not as noodly as the Miyata. Fit her good, still too small for me. Rode for a couple of years and sold to sister & brother in law. Good bike that they enjoy.
3rd is the T100. Fits me and her. We enjoy riding this one.
$300.00 is not much for a good tandem.
Condition & fit are a big deal.

We paid $370. I replaced chains and timing rings. New tires. Converted to drop bars for awhile. Now Albatross bars & 8 speed.

If it fits, that a nice quality bike at a good price.
I agree with what others shared.

I currently have two!

I upgraded to a T2000 and just listed my T200.
