Met Tandem rider WTandem on the Montrose Ride

It was a great day today as I rode the old Montrose Club Ride in South Pasadena for the first time since 1994. I met fellow Bike Forums Tandem couple WTandem on the ride! They were hammering and the nicest people you could imagine. Thanks for chatting with me!

Yes urbanknight riding the Montrose Ride is always a thrill, and really created the roadie addiction for us. Back in the days (before 1995) there were up to 3 tandems on the Montrose ride, Gene and Joan being the first, and then occasional joiners, wtandem told me they started doing the ride around 2000 or so. It was good to see how the ride has grown and branched out to accommodate older or recreational riders and allow for the true hammerheads to go at it at the 8:00 ride. Although the South Pasadena start leaves out the beautiful warmup from La Canada and down the Arroyo from the Rose Bowl. I saw that Road Bike Action posts some videos on facebook so I had to check it out the last time I was in the LA area. I'm surprised there is not a thread on this site for the ride.
