My New Paisley!
Here are some shots of my new to me Paisley tandem. This was given to my by forum member Madhonk. Thank you again, it is awesome!
This is a custom filet brazed frame that is in almost flawless condition, I'm guessing from the late 80's?
Here's the specs-
Phil hubs with threading for brakes on both.
Shimano cantilevers and Phil Wood disc. I do know the disc is asbestos and is likely to explode spontaneously, killing half of my city- it sure looks cool though.
The front currently has the Phil disc.Right lever controls both front canti and disc, left controls rear canti. I do have an Arai that may replace the disc.
Super Champion non-anodized 40 hole rims.
XT front and rear ders controlled by bar ends-index or friction. 6speed Shimano 600 freewheel. These are earlier all metal deraillers that are very nice.
Sugino AT cranks with 54-46-28 rings. This is a bit high for me but I'll give it a go
SR Laprade posts, fluted and painted to match of course.
Brooks wide saddles, front B-67, rear B-72
Nitto moustache bars on front, unknown tourist bars on rear. Stoker stem is a standard 1 1/8" threadless.
Dura Ace headset.
Planet Bike fenders.
Custom painted Zefal frame pump.
I sewed up some custom bags.
This bike was all complete and just needed a dusting off. I have reworked both cockpits and still need to make some minor changes. My wife and daughter have been out with me briefly but it is still quite cold here with snow on the ground. My hopes are to get them interested in riding.

Thanks, yes my wife and both kids have been on the back regularly. Just short rides with the kids but my wife and I went out for 1 1/2 hours last week. She has never done any real riding so that was a big ride for her. I'll get some pics up soon. The bike has undergone a couple different bar changes on both cockpits and now has fenders as well. It's a really nice machine and I often go out by myself on it. I would say it has been successful in getting the family out, but I'm just taking it very slow with them.
