New tandem for us!
Hey all,
Wife Robyn and I just got our first tandem (Co-motion Primera). Just thought I'd share the good news...
Can't wait for the temps to warm up!
Check out pics at:

Anyway, enjoying the tandem forum...

VERY COOL! Nice looking rig you guys have there. We've had our Co-Motion since like Aug. You made a wise choice in buying in my opinion.

We looked tested a many and the co motion just seemed to glide along. With others it felt like the tandem got in the way, but this thing went when we wanted it too and moved the way we wanted it to move.
Do any of you put tandems on trainers? We have the Primera sitting right in front of our single bikes (on trainer) so we can dream those countless hours away... would be great to get some time in on the tandem before the warm weather starts.

Haven't done it in a while but, Yes, you can mount a tandem on a free-standing, rear-wheel mount resistance trainer, e.g., CyclOps or similar. Moreover, the 145mm rear axle of the Co-Motion should be an easy fit vs a tandem with 160mm rear axle (which is what we had at the time). You'll want to use a front wheel block and avoid the temptation to ride standing out of the saddles -- well, at least until you know you can do it without rocking the boat. Also, it's best to let the stoker get on first and get off last which is backwards from the norm; this helps to keep the tandem from tilting over when you get on and off. Also, remember to place the fan (if you use one) and the TV (if you're watching a training video) to the side of the tandem so your stoker can benefit from both....

New here to the forums, had to congratulate you on your Primera.
We invested in a Mocha last fall. With all of 30 miles in before winter hit Minnesota, we're drooling for warmer temps. Hit 40 degrees today, so can't be far off now. To prove we're tandem crazed fans, we mounted our new baby on the basement wall to admire.
Happy riding!
P.S. Can't help but add our baby's pic.

Being from Dallas we always like to see you folks go out of your way to paint your tandems Dallas Cowboy's colors! With the big tuna being here now, we'll try not to waste the pretty paintjob the next few years!
For real though, nice looking bike. It's always cool to see other co-motions out there.

Congrats on your new bike!
We got our first tandem late last year and manged to get a few miles on it before winter came. The last few months it's been in our family room tied to a trainer. Can hardly wait 'till spring!

Brad: I did. It left Salt Lake City this a.m. and should be on my doorstep Monday a.m. Many thanks, Dave
