Selling a tandem?

i have a tandem that my wife and I have enjoyed, sparingly, for years. She is no longer able to ride (knees and hips), so I am planning on selling the tandem, most likely on eBay.

When I have looked at other tandems on eBay, they specify the heights that the Captain and Stoker can have for the particular bike. How do I determine what size riders will fit my bike?

Is there another way to sell the bike, rather than eBay, that anyone might recommend?

Well... I am as my name implies am a newbie. So all I might suggest is you could tell us in this forum what type of tandem (Make, , Year, upgrades if any) you have and someone who is really smart about those things. However you could list your tandem for sale on the For Sale forum right here on Bike Forums. Let us all know you have done so here in this forum and you might find a buyer without too much difficulty.

So, just what type of tandem ya got? And, where are ya located unless you want to ship it.

Craigslist.org
Any local .forsale newsgroup ( i.e. DFW.forsale in my area )
Also look up any cycling club in your area and see if they have a website. Ours has a for sale forum.

Just provide buyers with the manufacturer's sizing information, e.g., 21" / 19", Large/Medium, 56cm/50cm. If you feel so inclined, you could also include your and your wife's height and inseam dimensions and characterize the fit: about 1" of standover, a bit long when purchased but fitted with a shorter stem, etc... The buyers should be able to figure it out from there. If they Email back and want additional dimensions, you can then decide if you want to bother with measuring the distances from the captain's seat post mast to the head tube and stoker's seat tube mast to the captain's seat tube mast and so on...
