Tandem Geek's Tandem Surveys

Browsing thru the old threads, I came upon TG's interesting tandem surveys. Just want to bring it back so newer members can view them.

There are also others I think. I'm sure TG can post the full list (or I could search). The last one IIRC had lots of interesting info on people's experience with the various newfangled integrated wheelsets, which is quite useful for those considering purchase.

I thought the surveys were well thought out and thorough. Wish I was able to participate in them. Having said that, I noticed that Kuwahara wasn't even in it. Our first tandem is one, a 1986 Adventurer TK. It's our most used tandem, we have two others (1987 Santana Arriva S and 1989 Picante). I think we have the oldest fleet of tandems! LOL

I also found a study on the net on the 1999 MTR. I thought it was interesting.

Knubby:
Thanx for posting the link to the '99 MTR in Michigan!
We attended that rally which was listed as 'the last tandem rallly of the century' and participated in their survey also. We had driven from Arizona to do the rally + also do some visiting/riding in the Midwest. Yup, we are among the ones listed as 'retired!'
Also a nice photo of your Kuwahara . . . have only seen a couple white and one light-blue Kuwahara, but all with the distinctive 'rainbow' highlights.
You do seem to favor 'older' tandems, but, as long as you ride them . . .
Surveys do offer some interesting insights into tandem ownership/habits!
