Weekend Tandem Outing in West Central Georgia

Mark your calendars for STR 2000 Revisited... Again!

When: 15 - 16 November 03
Where: Callaway Gardens at Pine Mountain, GA.
RSVP by: 15 October to [email protected]

The Southern Tandem Rally was held at Pine Mountain (Callaway Gardens), Georgia in the fall of 2000. Many of us found the riding and locale to be enjoyable enough to participate in the first "STR 2000 Revisited" the following November. Well, the folks who attended the "revisited weekend" enjoyed it so darn much that many of us will return to Pine Mountain again this fall. Here are the details:

Sat., Nov. 15, 10:00 start - The same route as the Sat. ride of STR 2000 including a lunch stop at (hopefully) The Ivy on Broad Street in Warm Springs, GA. Three ride options to lunch- short (17 miles), medium (32 miles), and long (47 miles) and three options after lunch - flat (16 miles), scenic (17 miles), and long (34 miles).

Sun., Nov. 16, 10:00 am - The same route as the Sun. ride of STR 2000 with options of 30, 42, and 52 miles.

All rides will start and finish at the main entrance to the Mountain Creek Inn (formerly the Callaway Gardens Inn).

Your hosts -- the Wood-Osgoods & Hunters -- have secured a group rate at the Mountain Creek Inn of $99/night + the mandatory $15 resort fee (as compared to the usual $124 + fee). The local Days Inn has quoted a rate of $63.

Saturday Evening:
Your hosts are also working on a plan for a group dinner (Dutch Treat) for Saturday evening; details to follow for those who express an interest in attending.

This is a "no frills" weekend, i.e., no fees, no T-shirts, etc. Your hosts will provide the schedule, routes, and maps. Each participating team will be responsible for making and paying for their own lodging arrangements, meals, snacks, etc...

If you are interested in attending please send an Email as soon as possible to Linda Wood & Eric Osgood: [email protected] and also let them know if you would like to stay at the Mountain Creek Inn. Linda & Eric will send those who express an interest in attending with additional information regarding the event AND a confirmation number for the Inn that will ensure you receive the reduced rate. Again, please reply no later than 15 October.

Thanks from Your Hosts
Linda Wood and Eric Osgood
