Sweet weekend Bike Path ride trying to beat the heat

Nice weekend ride on the bike path with some friends, hot days right now trying to beat the heat. We all left early and it was still hot as heck. What can I say after 15 or 16 years of tandem riding with my wife Julie other than we still love it.

Ride Safe Everyone,
Bill G

Trip to MTB Tandems and Helen, Georgia

Took a trip from Texas to visit Alex at MTB Tandems | Home and test ride some new mt. tandems. We decided on a new DC-9 Fandango in Grinch green color. We headed north to camp at Unicoi State Park. This pic is just before a ride from local shop called Woody's Mountain Bikes.

Sad but we will be putting the Cannondale MT3000 up for sale. We bought this to test the off road riding and it has been / and is a great bike. It is a 1998 model.

Any bike trip for ice cream makes me happy

Sharing photos from Chris (Christoph Timm) provided via Tandem@Hobbes:

Does riding stairs qualify as riding off-road? We often use our Tour Terrain Singletrailer to take our youngest son (2) on rides in the woods, but recently I wanted to try if it is capable of providing its passenger with comfort and safety even down a short set of stairs. Thus, on the way to an ice cream stop I just gave it a try. Our son never stopped singing and didn't really seem to care, and even his mother taking the picture now agrees that the suspension does work well.

Front wheel on bottom step looks like a close call.

Trying out the tandem teeter totter at Morgan Monroe State Forest today.

Didn't feel totally in control in the captain's position.

Hey, she's not pedaling!

I have the shimano ultegra 9 speed STI shifters with the travel agents. My grand children visited for two months this summer. We were able to ride a 16,20 and a 30 milers.

not a couple, but me and my friend are happy. The tandem gets ridden once a year, 100 miles. It's a fun things to do after a long season.

My 13 yr old son and I at the start of our first s24o. We left from our home and went about 30 miles to the san onofre state beach campground. It was definitely a great first bike camping experience.

One of our regular rides: drive to Old Town Folsom and ride the American River Bike Trail all the way down into Old Town Sacramento. Have lunch and beverages at Fannie Anne's Saloon. Then decide if we are going to be macho and ride back... or if we are going to be relaxed and take the light rail train back. This one is in front of the Pony Express memorial in Old Sacramento...

Geez, with a VanderKitten as a stoker, you should ride more often.

The Admiral + I rode about 40 mi's passing thru a covered bridge in central Ohio on Sat. Hard to imagine a nicer day- upper 70's *F, light cross wind... just the kind of day and route for which God invented tandems!

My wife and I somehow became the cover stars for this year's Will Bike 4 Food event in Hatfield, MA. See us in action here: https://www.foodbankwma.org/events/bike/

We ride a Burley Rock and Roll mountain bike tandem with road tires.

It was our first organized ride, and a lot of fun.

Here's another photo:

Cookin' on the aerobars: Lighthouse Century. We can make up a lot of the time we lose on the climbs with those things. Beautiful day, fun ride.
