Pictures from our last tour from Romania. We were two couples on two tandems. A lot of fun, despite bad weather.
This is me and my wife Alina.

And this are our friends. Custom build tandems and trailers!

I don't know if you really call us a "couple", but here's a shot of a new-to-me Santana Arriva tandem that is outfitted with a stoker kit for my 7 year old while my 5 year old is out back on the tag-a-long. We had been riding around town on an Xtracycle up to this point, but then they started to grow faster than my fitness level and I needed to come up with a better solution. We aren't as maneuverable in traffic as we once were, but we are a heck of a lot faster!

Here we are in our first year of tandemming. This is from our two-week visit of New Brunswick & Prince Edward Island. The first picture was taken on the Fundy Trail (which has some interesting hills and beautiful scenic views), the second is from Grand Manan Island. Although not very renowned for cycling, we found New Brunswick and PEI to be nicely bikeable. We just had to spend some more time preparing each day's route because there are no prepared "standard" cycling circuits there. A GPS is a precious asset...

I'm envious, that's a beautiful place. I also like your bike and black mudflaps.

Here are a few of our maiden voyage on our tandem with our sons.
We rode 60 miles of the C&O Canal this past weekend.

Great pics of you and your grandson. Happy for both of you. He may be NEARLY tall enough for crank shortners and the seat all the way down when he feels up for pedaling. Crank shorteners canbe pricey but you can pick them up on ebay frequently. They pop on and off rather easy for when you ride with your wife.
Just a suggestion.
And again - CONGRATS!

From a local hill climb race. Didn't do that well, mostly due to a serious 25 mile TT-pace effort (rode from home) to get to registration on time. Still had fun, until later in the ride (post-race) a stomach bug came over me, and I felt absolutely horrible.

Anyway, some cool pics.

He just completed his 2nd quarterly remission test as he celebrated his 7th b'day and he is STILL CANCER FREE!

We have been out several times since this picture was taken, but I never think to bring a camera. He's so excited about going back to school in the fall. I'll be picking him up after school several days a week on "Jazz", the name he gave to the tandem.

He can't wait until he's big enough to reach the pedals. RIght now he's taking it easy with the DIY foot rest I fabricated. I investigated a kid stoker kit but it's too $$ and too difficult to put on and take off for when my wife and I go out. This device takes me 2 min to take off or put on.

Vintage Schwinn Twin

Most photo's show us pedaling thru rain showers. A friend recently shot a series of photo's of us on a sunny evening picnic. We were having so much fun we didn't even notice the deer grazing behind us by the pond. We recently restored this vintage tandem. It's been fun and the bike turns heads when we cruise around town.

Here is Tyler's Nana (Joy) and Papa (Me) on the tandem getting ready for the 9/11 Memorial ride on A1A. We are joined in the pic by Sandi, fellow club member and co-worker with my stoker. Joy was surprised how well we did now that she is riding a solo bike 20 - 40 mi a week. Funny how that works.

Orguasch, Thanks for the comments. Tyler is now pushing 15 mo cancer free. He has grown a lot in the last year, but not yet ready to reach the pedals. I pick him up at school on the tandem and all the kids are jealous.

Thanks for posting the pix of you and your family. You are indeed blessed. We used to live in Burlington, ON. Loved it. Enjoyed Toronto very much. Stay well and ride safe.

A couple of pics from our trip to Park City UT area. Rode from Kamas to Bald Mtn. Summit. Had to do it in two separate rides because we didn't have enough water capacity for a 60 miler. Very remote and beautiful road up to the summit.

Road Ranger how old is your daughter in that photo of her first charity ride? My wife and I are struggling with our patience and are just dying to get our son on the back of a tandem. I tried to send you a private message but apparently I am too much of a novice and don't have that priviledge yet. Also is that a Periscope model that you are riding?

She is 5 yrs old, started her on training rides this spring and worked up to that ride, yes that is a periscope with crank shorteners, it is awesome.
We started her in a trailer at 16 months, her little sister is now 3 yrs old so time to make more space in the trailer, I pull it behind the tandem on shorter rides.
