From our first 100k for charity....... we still do not have a nickname for this tandem, but for some reason feel it should be a male gender name! The Cannondale is such a different ride to the one we had on the previous steel wheels (nicknamed "Daisy"). I wanted "Daisy Deux" but the stoker over-ruled me and vetoed that!

PS cannot seem to rotate images, sorry for the weird appearance and any hints to fix welcomed!

Right click on image
Copy Image
Paste in Windows Paint (in Windows Accessory programs)
Rotate 90 degrees
Save As, (file, to folder you can find again)
Go to Image Shack
Upload file (640 x 480 Message Board size is usually around the right size)
Click on Forum Code, right click and copy
Paste code right in the posting box.

Maybe someone can do this to the other photograph.

Now, if I only knew how to adjust my front derailleur.

thanks - I think I must have just been tired when I posted - and one of us seems quite enough! We should have an article on derailleur adjustment somewhere around here I am sure!

Hey, Cowtandemstoker, just watched the vid you made on your #468 post. Wow, love that 3rd song! What was it at around 4:30? (Not Queen, but the one after.)

Cool video, but wife/stoker and I got the biggest kick out of listening to that song over and over again. We need it!

Since we mostly ride by ourselves, it's pretty hard to get a photo of us riding our tandem, so this is the best we can do!

This was at the Peoples Pedal Party in downtown Colorado Springs, August 21. It's the starting celebration for the US Pro Cycling Championships held all over the State of CO. this week. Lot's of bikes and several tandem teams too!

Thanks Wheelspeed.

Artist: The Caesars
Song: Jerk It Out

Lyrics:

Wind me up put me down start me off and watch me go
I'll be running circles around you sooner than you know
A little off center and i'm out of tune
just kickin this can along the avenue
But i'm alright

coz it's easy once you know how it's done
you can't stop now it's already begun
you feel it running through your bones

and you jerk it out, jerk it out

shut up hush your mouth can't you hear you talk to loud?
No I can't hear nothing 'cause I got my head up in the clouds
I bite off anything that I can chew
I'm chasing cars up and down the avenue
But that's ok

coz it's easy once you know how it's done
you can't stop now it's already begun
you feel it running through your bones

so you jerk it out
jerk it out

A photo stop along the 35 mile loop Sunday, August 28, during the Active Transportation Alliance Four Star Bicycle Tour of Chicago, formerly called The Boulevard Lakefront Tour. Well planned. Beautiful day!

[QUOTE=stevemtbr;13004063]Due to the wife's health the tandem has been sitting idle these past few years. But now things are much better and we did 32 miles on the Trail of the Coeur D Alene's in Idaho. Had the Burley since 1996 and next spring we may buy a new Co-Motion Mocha.

Did this ride several years ago on our singles. What a beautiful ride with lots of wildlife

One of our two Ibis Touche tandems. This year we also bought a Comotion Speedster Copilot, which we used in our starts in PBP Audax and Rando. We didn´t finish... We have been on tandem for two years and will continue on short brevets 200-600 km.

Us on the Tour of Wessex Day 1. We did the medium route, which was 76 miles with a mix of flats round Glastonbury Tor (in the background in second picture) and a tough stretch up Cheddar Gorge (third picture). Very nice countryside, and highly recommended if you haven't visited Somerset (South-west UK).

The bike started life as a T2000 Trek, then I added my favourite lighter parts to make it ride more like a road racing bike. Parts changed include: carbon forks, carbon bars, stems, seatposts, saddles, pedals, front brake, brake pads, tyres and tubes. So only the frame, wheels and drivetrain remain.

We don't ride very much as we have two young kids, so we were super pleased that we got round fast enough to get a Silver certificate for my wife.

Well no we didn't buy the Co-motion Mocha or wait till spring. Just came home with a new Co-motion PeriScope Torpedo instead!

I saw the Torpedo in the window at Steve's bike shop on Cannon St and talked the wife into a quick test ride. It turned into a long test ride and we both agreed it has much better overall ride quaility than the Burley. So we brought it home. Tomorrow will be the maiden voyage. Pics below.

Great fun!

Our Burley Rivazza with my 4-year old daughter stoking on the 2011 DALMAC. She rode the first 49 miles with me and then I switched to a single bike for the rest of the tour. Great fun...perhaps she'll be ready for the whole shebang next year!

We didn't do the hill climb. We found the altitude more of a problem than expected. Once over 5,000 ft really noticed the reduced power and speed even on 1-2% sections near the start vs what speed we normally ride. We rode the 50 mile ride before but it stayed below 5,000 or so and it was not a big problem. Power meters would have been great for a power comparison at various altitudes.

Guess we need an altitude camp, but that, like power meters, is not in the cards.

Here's our tandem. It's an older Schwinn Duo-Sport, about 20 years old. We hope to upgrade to a Cannondale or Co-Motion by next summer.

Next time we ride I'll try to get a picture of us with the bike.

Set out to bike around Lake Champlain last week, trip cut short to avoid rain, but got around the bottom half of the lake and will be back to ride the top half when we get a chance! This in Burlington, VT.

My wife and I were at Cyclefest for the 2nd year on the Speedster this year. Lots of steep long climbs. It is my favorite cycling event though. Can't wait till next year.
