Rides on the South Shore of Long Island, NY
We will be visiting Wantagh, LI, NY this Summer. Does anyone have cue sheets/maps of some good rides within 25 miles of Wantagh? We will be riding with some "less serious" riders and would probably like to keep things under 25 miles and on safer, less traveled roads or trails.
I can provide a FAX or street address if that's more convenient.
Thanks.

I recommend that you do a search on MapMyRide.com for rides in that area (search for all surrounding towns). I tried Wantagh, but there were only 5 listed and all being really too short. But there is a lot of other places about that might suit. Generally speaking, that area is pretty densely populated, so I think finding the right roads is key to having fun vs fighting cars.

You might try nycc.org (new york cycle club) which has a cue sheet library on their web page. You can google "Pomonok Cycling" will lead you to a number of clubs on Long Island, and some of those may have cue sheets. There is a bike path that goes from Bethpage State Park to Jones Beach State Park.
