On a practical note, I found a 140 Deda Netwon with 4 degrees rise plus/minus. It will be close to 100 grams lighter, and with only 4 degrees of rise, the whole issue of the stress on the seat post, and the a mount of extension, from flipping it positive or negative will be essentially be moot.

No, I'm just REALLY proficient when it comes to doodling with PowerPoint, PageMill and other low-tech applications...

I have a 150mm stem made by System 2 on my mtb that's held up great over the years. 216g.

Just letting you know to keep your eyes open if you're interested in long stems.
